Cervical Smear Tests

The practice offers a cervical smear screening service, and all women between the ages of 25 and 60 will automatically be invited every three to five years to attend.

All cervical smears are taken by our trained Practice Female Nurses and they have recently agreed to work during our extended hours period, 6.30 to 8pm on a tuesday night. This is an ideal opportunity for women who find it difficult to get to the Practice during normal Surgery hours. The test results are usually available after about 2 weeks.

We therefore urge all women between 25 and 65 who have not had a smear test in the last five years to ensure that they book one as soon as possible with the Practice nurse.

If you have never had a cervical smear test, the procedure is described very well on www.patient.co.uk/health/cervical-screening-test.htm

Fees for Private Work

Such certificates include private medical insurance reports, holiday insurance cancellation certificates, passport forms, Public Carriage Office forms. Certain travel vaccinations are not provided by the NHS and a charge will be levied for their administration.
